DATAmetrics publishes sociological data characterizing the social well-being of the population: assessments of one's own life, changes in the family's material situation, and expectations regarding the future. These data were identified as a result of a sociological study conducted from June 13 to July 2, 2026, commissioned by the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The survey conducted by personal interview («face-to-face») involved 8,000 residents aged 18 and over from all regions of Kazakhstan, as well as Astana, Almaty, and Shymkent.

The social well-being of the population is shaped by how people assess their life, material situation, and expectations regarding the future. The study results show that positive assessments prevail in public opinion across all of these indicators.

The most favorable assessments were obtained for the life satisfaction indicator. 63.3% of study participants are fully satisfied with their life, and another 31.9% reported that they are rather satisfied. Thus, 95.2% of respondents give a positive assessment of their life. 3.4% are rather not satisfied with their life, and 1.1% are not satisfied at all.

Positive assessments of one's own life situation are also reflected in the perception of the family's material situation. More than two-thirds of study participants (67.6%) reported that their family's material situation improved over the past year. Of these, 29.8% believe that it definitely improved, and another 37.8% note rather positive changes.

25.5% of respondents reported that the family's material situation did not change. Another 6.6% believe that it worsened.

Assessments of the present largely determine people's expectations regarding the future. The study shows that the majority of survey participants assess their family's prospects with optimism. Almost eight out of ten respondents (78.6%) believe that in a year they will live better than today. Of these, 45.0% expect a significant improvement in their situation, and another 33.6% expect some improvement.

Another 15.9% believe that their family's standard of living will remain unchanged. 3.4% of study participants expect their situation to worsen.

Overall, the study results show a predominance of positive assessments across the main indicators of social well-being. The majority of survey participants are satisfied with their life, positively assess changes in their family's material situation, and expect their situation to improve over the coming year.

The sample is representative of the main socio-demographic characteristics of the population of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including type of settlement (urban/rural), gender, and age. The statistical margin of error of the sample at a 95% confidence level does not exceed ±1.1%.

DATAmetrics presented the results of a sociological survey conducted from June 13 to July 2, 2026, commissioned by the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The face-to-face survey involved 8,000 residents aged 18 and over from all regions of Kazakhstan, as well as Astana, Almaty, and Shymkent.

One of the key indicators of public sentiment is citizens' overall assessment of the country's development direction. This indicator reflects the population's perception of government policy.

The study showed a high level of support for the state's political course. Specifically, 87.8% of respondents believe that Kazakhstan is developing in the right direction.

An important indicator of civic activity is the population's willingness to participate in elections.

At the time the survey was conducted, the date of the elections for deputies of the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan had not yet been announced, so the questionnaire asked: «If elections to the Kurultai (Parliament) were held next Sunday, would you go to vote?».

The majority of citizens expressed willingness to participate in the upcoming Kurultai elections. 75.6% of respondents said they intend to go to polling stations. Of these, 44.2% stated they would «definitely» vote, and another 31.4% said they would «probably» participate in the vote.

To study party preferences, respondents were asked: «If elections to the Kurultai were held next Sunday, which political party would you vote for?»

• According to the survey results, the party «Әділет» received the highest support. 54.2% of respondents said they are ready to vote for this party.
• Second place is held by the party «Ауыл» with 7.3%.
• The party «Ақ жол» with 4.6% is in third place.
• The support level for the party «Respublica» is 3.4%.
• 2.4% of respondents are ready to vote for the Nationwide Social Democratic Party.
• The People's Party of Kazakhstan found support from only 2.1% of respondents.
• The party «Байтақ» received support from only 1.1% of respondents.
• 2.3% of respondents chose the «Against all» option.

At the same time, there is a substantial share of respondents whose votes political parties will compete for during the election campaign – 22.6% of citizens, i.e., effectively every fifth voter, have not yet decided on their party preferences.

The survey results demonstrate a high level of public support for the political course and significant readiness of citizens to participate in the electoral process
