Over 87% of Kazakhstanis support the country's political course

87.8% of respondents believe Kazakhstan is developing in the right direction, and 75.6% are ready to vote in the Kurultai elections.

DATAmetrics has presented the results of a sociological study conducted from 13 June to 2 July 2026, commissioned by the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The face-to-face survey covered 8,000 residents aged 18+ in all regions of Kazakhstan and in Astana, Almaty and Shymkent.

Direction of the country's development

One of the key indicators of public sentiment is how citizens assess the country's overall direction. The study showed a high level of support: 87.8% of respondents believe Kazakhstan is developing in the right direction.

Willingness to vote

At the time of the survey the date of the Kurultai elections had not yet been announced, so the question was: “If elections to the Kurultai (Parliament) were held next Sunday, would you go and vote?” 75.6% of respondents said they intend to vote: 44.2% will “definitely” vote and another 31.4% will “probably” take part.

Party preferences

Answers to the question “If elections to the Kurultai were held next Sunday, which party would you vote for?”:

  • Adilet: 54.2%
  • Auyl: 7.3%
  • Ak Zhol: 4.6%
  • Respublica: 3.4%
  • Nationwide Social Democratic Party: 2.4%
  • People's Party of Kazakhstan: 2.1%
  • Baitak: 1.1%
  • “Against all”: 2.3%

Another 22.6% of citizens, effectively one in five, have not yet decided on their party preference.

The sample is representative of the population of Kazakhstan by key socio-demographic parameters, including settlement type (urban/rural), sex and age. The sampling error does not exceed ±1.1% at a 95% confidence level.
